Onyx Drive Paris is a licensed, premium private-hire VTC chauffeur service based in Cormeilles-en-Parisis (Greater Paris). There is no call centre and no anonymous platform behind this website: it is a professional VTC chauffeur, licensed by the préfecture, who personally handles the large majority of journeys.
VTC (voiture de transport avec chauffeur) is the regulated French licence for private-hire chauffeur services — the legal framework that separates a professional private driver from a taxi or a ride-hailing amateur. Operators must be entered in the national VTC register and carry dedicated professional insurance.
Why this service exists
Too many private transfers are a lottery: a generic vehicle, a driver who does not know the terminal, a kerbside wait with no name sign, a fare that moves with the traffic. Onyx Drive Paris was built on the opposite choice: a single vehicle known inside out, a systematic meet-and-greet with a name sign at the airport, and a fixed fare announced before booking that never changes afterwards.
Choosing a 100% electric van is not only an environmental argument: it delivers a quietness and a ride comfort that a conventional saloon simply cannot match — particularly welcome after a long-haul flight.
The vehicle
The main vehicle is a Mercedes EQV 300, an electric van seating up to 7 passengers, with a 1,030-litre boot expandable to 4,630 litres and a 350 km WLTP range. On some journeys carrying a lot of luggage, capacity may be reduced to 6 passengers so that everyone keeps proper comfort and boot space: we tell you at booking if that applies — never as a surprise on the day.
At times of high demand
Onyx Drive Paris does not operate a fleet. When two journeys overlap, or during peak periods, a partner VTC chauffeur — always licensed — may be assigned to your booking on identical fare and service terms. This is the exception rather than the rule, and it is always a properly registered VTC professional, never an anonymous intermediary.
